KNEESUP2021
2022

Last year, down in the woods amongst the trees, the squirrels and badgers feasted without us (socially distanced of course), but this year, 28th May 2022, we will join them again for a good old KNEESUP, once again to support Friends Without Borders.

Tasty local food and beer (bring your own crockery/cutlery/glass) will be served on Saturday evening with breakfast on Sunday morning. Vegetarian options available. Gather from Friday and stay until Monday if you fancy it. If you have an instrument, or a voice, bring it. Camp amongst the trees and bluebells, or in a yurt or bell tent. Cook over the fire or in the outside kitchen, and shower under a giant warm waterfall (in your mind). There is actually a shower this year.
Over the last year we have been working much more closely with Friends without Borders and The British Red Cross, hosting workshops once a month for refugees and asylum seekers. Sharing the company of good people from all over the world, has been an amazing privilege and I hope this event will be another great opportunity to make new friends and catch up with old ones. Friends Without Borders continue to do so much to support so many people so please bring £20, or as much as you can spare, to enable them to continue what they are doing.

Those arriving by foot or bicycle (or horse) will be handsomely rewarded for their efforts. Trains from London get to Petersfield in under an hour, from where we can pick you up. Fareham, Havant and Winchester are also fairly close by. Planes can land in Southampton (followed by a train to Fareham), or Heathrow or Gatwick (followed by bus to Woking and train to Petersfield) or Bristol. Liaise with others on here to reduce your footprint.

Getting to Rushmere Farm.

2020 (cancelled)

Another feast in the woods to raise money for 'Friends Without Borders', fill our bellies, and have a little sing song.

It is such a beautiful time of year to be in the woods. Everything is lush with life, and the evenings are getting long. So to celebrate, on the evening of Friday 8th we will eat lots of delicious food, have a little sing and a little dance, and sleep in a yurt (or a bush somewhere).
Friends Without Borders have been making it possible for asylum seekers and refugees to survive in our country. I would suggest that you bring at least £20 with you. We will take a maximum of £5 from that to cover the cost of food, leaving at least £15 to help provide food, shelter, transport, English lessons, legal fees...more here (friendswithoutborders.org.uk) to those who have fled their countries in desperation and fear.
We'll do some breakfast in the morning too. Stay as long as you like, but you'll have to feed yourself (rabbit in wild garlic?)
